The real estate group handles all types of real estate matters, both residential and commercial. The Firm represents individuals and families, closely held and public corporations, and partnerships, including real estate owners and developers. We negotiate sale, lease, and other types of real estate transactions and prepare all the required documentation. We also negotiate and prepare a wide range of commercial agreements utilized in connection with real estate matters, such as operating agreements and other entity formation documentation as well as financing transaction documents. The Firm is also involved in representing both developers and building owners before the New York State Attorney General’s Office in the development and conversion of properties to cooperative or condominium ownership. We also represent tenant groups affected by the conversion process. Members of the Firm have written extensively in the area of cooperative and condominium housing and have participated as lecturers in programs presented by various Bar Associations. Members of the Firm have prior experience working in the Attorney General’s Bureau of Real Estate, and a member of the Firm was Chairman of the Real Property Section of the New York State Bar Association. The attorneys forming this group regularly structure, negotiate, and document all types of financial transactions, including secured and unsecured loans, equipment leases, commercial and consumer credit transactions, and workouts for both lenders and borrowers. We are also involved in representing developers, cooperatives, condominiums, and individuals in both straightforward and complex real estate transactions and apartment closings.
